Marble Tile Installation on Long Island

Marble is one of the most beautiful materials in any home, and one of the most demanding to install. Careful sealing and layout planning protect the investment.

Why marble takes more care

Marble is softer and more porous than porcelain. It scratches more easily and can stain without proper sealing. The look is worth it, but the installation and care matter more than with synthetic tile.

Common marble projects

Primary bathroom floors and walls, shower walls, fireplace surrounds, foyers in higher-end homes, and accent strips. On the East End and North Shore, marble is a frequent choice for bathrooms.

FAQ

Marble Tile Installation — Frequently Asked Questions

Does marble need to be sealed?
Yes. We seal it after installation and recommend resealing periodically based on use and the specific stone.
Will marble etch in a shower?
It can — anything acidic (some shampoos, citrus cleaners, even hard-water deposits over time) can etch polished marble. Honed marble hides etching better than polished. We talk through finish trade-offs at the estimate so you pick the right one for your habits.
Can marble be installed on a heated floor?
Yes — radiant heat under marble in a primary bathroom is one of the most luxurious upgrades on Long Island. The membrane that protects the heating element also acts as a crack-isolation layer, which is great for natural stone.
What’s the difference between marble tile and a marble-look porcelain?
Real marble has unique veining, more depth, and that unmistakable feel — but needs sealing and gentler cleaning. Marble-look porcelain is essentially maintenance-free, water-impervious, and now extremely realistic. We install both and will give you our honest opinion based on your project.
